The Pharaoh’s name was written – on a Cartouche

Pharaohs’s White Crown ruled Upper Kemet – the lower part of Kemet

Pharaoh’s Red Crown ruled – lower Kemet – The upper part of Kemet

Pharaoh’s Red and White Crown, Blue Crown, and Atef Crown ruled – Upper and Lower Kemet

Pharaohs wore a false beard and carried a crook (heka) and flail  (nekhakha). 

Egyptian Symbols: Crook and Flail. 

The Crook and the Flail symbolize the respectable position of kingship—it signified pharaonic dominion over the land of Egypt. Both of farming origin, the crook symbolized that the pharaoh was the shepherd or caretaker of the people, and the flail symbolized the scourge of necessary punishment to maintain order in society.

Went to the market daily and bartered for food and goods.

Women cooked and ground grain, and men did the laundry because of crocodiles.

Mummification took 72 days; Hieroglyphics were written in the sarcophagus, which were coffins.

Organs were put in canopic jars: liver, Intestines, lungs, and stomach. The heart was weighed on the scale and must be as light as a feather. The brains were scrambled with a hook and poured out of the nose.

Pyramids were all white with a pure golden tip.

Wealthy people had official mourners crying during the entire funeral.

Men were prepared to fight hippopotamuses out of the garden.

A Sharif was used to fill buckets with water.

Farmers worked by the rise and the fall of the Nile River.

Beds were made of wood with a wooden pillow. No sheets.

Homes were for relaxing and had painted walls.

Cats were so important that the owners would shave their eyebrows in mourning when they died.

Adults played Senet with movable pieces and squares. Another game is Snakes and Ladders, where shutes and ladders are from.

Men and women wore wigs and eye makeup, for the eyes are the window to the soul.

All shaved their hair or cut it short, which helped to keep them from heat strokes.

The writing was hieroglyphics, and boys were taught to write.

The boys got married at 14 and the girls at 12.

Perfumed cones were worn on the heads to perfume the hair and body during a party. A party would start with poetry, then gymnastics and acrobatics. Men and women did not dance together.

Battles were fought by the king leading. There was a signal to begin the war no surprise attacks and no fighting after dark.

Chariots were used with adorned horses and skilled archers.

Foods: 

Dates and date palms (dates are used to sweeten food), bread, beer, vegetables, and fish. Everyone loves garlic and onions. Meats include goose, roast beef, gazelle, hare (rabbit ), and sometimes camel meat. Other foods include pomegranates, figs, and ostrich eggs.

The original name of Africa is Alkebulan 

The term “Alkebulan” is one of the oldest names for the continent of Africa and is believed to mean “Mother of Mankind” or “Garden of Eden.” This name is of indigenous origin and was used by the Moors, Nubians, Numidians, Carthaginians, and Ethiopians before the continent was known as Africa. The name reflects the ancient belief that Africa is the birthplace of humanity and civilization¹².

The transition from Alkebulan to Africa is a subject of historical debate, with various theories about how the latter name came into common use. Some suggest it was derived from the names of people living in the region, while others believe it was named for its sunny weather or geographical features. Regardless of its origin, the name Africa has been adopted globally, but the original name, Alkebulan, holds significant historical and cultural importance.

MA’AT

Written at least 2,000 years before the Ten Commandments of Moses, the 42 Commandments of Ancient Egypt, the ” Ideals of Ma’at” were one of Africa’s – and the world’s – oldest sources of moral and spiritual instruction. MA’AT, the ancient Egyptian divine principles of truth, justice, and righteousness, is the foundation of natural and social order and unity.                                                       

Ancient Africans developed a human system of thought and conduct which has been recorded in volumes of African wisdom literature, such as the declarations from the Book of Coming Forth by Day, the so-called (Book of the Dead), the teachings of Phat-Hotep and the writings of others. Today, we can use these principles as a practical guide to moral and spiritual excellence and uplift our community. Let your life be an example and live justly, for justice remains a firm foundation, and your children will prosper. The teachings of Phat-Hotep 2370 B.C.

I have not destroyed property belonging to God.

These laws were meant to maintain order, balance, truth, reciprocity, harmony, righteousness, morality, and justice in society.

The Belief in one God

God is one and alone, and none other existeth with Him–God is the One, the One who hath made all things–God is a spirit, a hidden spirit, the spirit of spirits, the great spirit of the Egyptians, the divine spirit–God is from the beginning, and He hath been from the beginning, He hath existed from old and was when nothing else had being. He existed when nothing else existed, and what existeth He created after He had come into being, He is the Father of beginnings–God is the eternal One, He is eternal and infinite and endureth forever and aye–God is hidden and no man knoweth His form. No man hath been able to seek out His likeness; He is hidden to gods and men, and he is a mystery unto His creatures. No man knoweth how to know Him–His name remaineth hidden; His name is a mystery unto His children. His names are innumerable, they are manifold, and none knoweth their number–God is truth, and He liveth by truth, and He feedeth thereon. He is the king of truth, and He hath established the earth thereupon–God is life, and through Him only man liveth. He giveth life to man, He breatheth the breath of life into his nostrils–God is father and mother, the father of fathers, and the mother of mothers. He begetteth, but was never begotten; He produceth, but was never produced; He begat himself and produced himself. He createth, but was never created; He is the maker of his own form, and the fashioner of His own body–God Himself is existence, He endureth without increase or diminution, He multiplieth Himself millions of times, and He is manifold in forms and in members–God hath made the universe, and He hath created all that therein is; He is the Creator of what is in this world, and of what was, of what is, and of what shall be. Imhotep – whose name means he who comes in peace.

The Father of Medicine is Imhotep. 

Physician to the Pharaoh.

Cured over 200 diseases of the stomach. 

Could look into your iris of the eye and tell what was causing your illness.

Architect – Builder of the step pyramid, the tallest building of its time. 205 Ft tall, built 2870 – 2650 B.C., first royal monument. Took 20 years and 20,000 workers.
