Our Commitment to Community Impact

At Urban Intellectuals, we believe impact is not an afterthought. It is part of the system.
UI Cares is our structured commitment to giving back through access, education, time, and partnership. While we continue building a financially strong company, we also commit to building something deeper: legacy, repair, and opportunity.
We may not always give large amounts of money — but we will always give intentionally.
Through product access, sponsored seats, community education, and strategic partnerships, we aim to remove barriers and create opportunities for families, children, and communities aligned with our mission.
This page exists to document our efforts internally so our team can see the work we are doing, the communities we are supporting, and the difference we are making together.
Generosity is not random here.
It is structured.
It is deliberate.
It is who we are becoming.
1. Our Philosophy
We believe philanthropy is not about waiting until we are “big enough.” It is about embedding generosity into our operating system. Every quarter, we look for ways to increase access to education, restore cultural confidence, and support aligned community initiatives.
2. How We Give
- Product-based access (free or sponsored digital resources)
- Sponsored seats for Sankofa Club and Sankofa Circle
- Educational partnerships with aligned organizations
- Community office hours and open access events
- Strategic event support
3. Impact Tracker
You can leave placeholders like:
2026 Impact To Date
• Events Supported: ___
• Sponsored Access Seats: ___
• Families Impacted: ___
• Community Hours Given: ___
• Total Value of Resources Distributed: ___
This becomes a living dashboard.
4. Our Standard
We do not give to be seen.
We give because it aligns with our mission.
UI Cares exists to ensure generosity is consistent, intentional, and aligned with our values.

Legacy at the Table – A Black History Showcase
February 2026
Overview
In February 2026, Urban Intellectuals supported Legacy at the Table: A Black History Showcase, organized by Chimere Norris.
The event centered on reflection, storytelling, and honoring Black history in a meaningful, experiential way. Families, children, educators, and community members gathered to engage in a production designed to deepen understanding and cultural connection.
UI Cares contributed educational resources to extend that experience beyond the stage.

What We Provided
- 5 sets of Black History Flashcards Volume 1
- 5 sets of Black History Flashcards Volume 2 (Women Edition)
- 5 sets of Black History Flashcards Volume 3
- 5 sets of Black History Flashcards Volume 4
- 5 sets of Black History Flashcards Volume 5
- 5 decks of Affirmations for Black Families
Total Decks Donated: 30
These were not simply giveaways. They were tools placed directly into the hands of families to continue the learning at home.
Why This Matters
As Chimere shared:
“The decks helped reinforce and solidify the message that was shared during the Black History production. They weren’t just giveaways — they became meaningful extensions of the experience and reflection we aimed to create.”
This is exactly what UI Cares is about.
Education should not end when the curtain closes.
It should move to the dinner table.
To the living room.
To the family conversation.
The flashcards became bridges between the event and everyday life.
Impact Observed
- Children visibly excited to receive educational resources
- Parents engaging immediately with the content
- Teachers and spouses expressing appreciation for tools they could use beyond the event
- Cultural pride reinforced in real time
The video shared by Chimere showed something simple but powerful: joy connected to knowledge.
That is the impact.
Internal Reflection
This support represents the beginning of our structured philanthropy initiative for 2026.
We are not waiting until we are larger.
We are embedding generosity into who we are now.
Impact is not measured only in dollars.
It is measured in hands reached and conversations started.
