Urban Intellectuals - Black History Made Easy

Is the Country Crumbling?

Thank you for your answer!

However you answered, let’s talk about why this question even needs asking.

Because what we’re watching isn’t just politics or economics—it’s the slow unravelling of a story that was never told truthfully to begin with.

Empires crumble when they forget what made them powerful in the first place—their people. And here in America, those in power have forgotten, or perhaps never cared, that the real builders of this nation were Black hands, Black minds, and Black souls.

We built, invented, taught, cooked, healed, organized—and yet we were written out of the pages. So now, when systems shake, those who erased the truth are scrambling to hold on, while those of us rooted in truth are learning to stand on our own.

That’s why we focus on teaching, knowing, and reclaiming.

Because no matter what they do “up top,” we are rebuilding from the ground up.

Every time a parent teaches their child about Mansa Musa or Harriet Tubman…

Every time a teacher uses our Flashcards to start real conversation…

Every time a community gathers to learn its story instead of waiting for permission to exist—
We rise.

They can print new money, pass new laws, rewrite the headlines…

But they can’t erase a people grounded in knowledge, pride, and unity.

If the country is crumbling, then maybe that’s our cue—

Not to panic, but to prepare.

To build what’s next.

To make sure our families and our communities have the tools to stand tall when the walls around us fall.

And that’s exactly why we do what we do at Urban Intellectuals.

From Flashcards to classes, calendars to conversations—everything we make is designed to strengthen that foundation.

Because when you know who you are, no system can break you.

Stay strong, stay learning, and stay building,
