Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of a world where our communities could rise, thrive, and celebrate the beauty of our heritage. But in 2025, have we unintentionally let that dream fade and become a nightmare?
Are we disrespecting MLK Day’s legacy by only focusing on a handful of historical figures? This MLK Day, we’re reigniting a crucial conversation.
Join Freddie Taylor, the Founder of Urban Intellectuals, as he digs deep into Dr. King’s legacy and explores the importance of our shared history beyond the same 8-12 names we hear every year since we were 5 years old. You’ll be inspired to reclaim our culture, pour back into our communities, and share our stories with the next generation.
This isn’t just another MLK tribute—it’s a call to action to expand our knowledge and live out the legacy of Black excellence.

If you’ve ever been to the MLK Memorial in Atlanta, Georgia just down the street from his childhood home, you’ll know there is an eternal flame on his gravesite. That flame will never go out and that’s the vision that King had for his Dream for the Black community, America, and the world as a whole.
That eternal flame in our community seems to be dimming because of our insistence on not sharing the full and glorious Black history with ourselves and the world. And we are doing something about it with this event. You must attend and be inspired.
✔️ Decide: We will help you decide to commit to prioritizing Black history and culture for yourself and the next generation.
✔️ Expand: Move beyond the same stories and explore the legends, hidden figures, and untold narratives that have shaped our community.
✔️ Take Action: Invest in continuous learning and share that knowledge with your family and friends. During this event, you’ll gain exclusive access to a special offer from Urban Intellectuals designed to deepen your understanding and inspire meaningful conversations with your family, friends, and community.

The truth is our history matters. And we shouldn’t allow anyone to shrink it down to a handful of people. We must continue to share with ourselves, the next generation, and the world the amazing contributions to humanity Black and African people have created.
We will help you to not be silent anymore and continue King’s Dream for our future.

A study conducted by the National Museum of African American History and Culture found that 76% of Black Americans who engage with their cultural heritage report a stronger sense of identity and resilience in overcoming societal challenges.
