Dr. Melissa Noland-Chester, Founder & CEO of Black Educators Rock, Inc.

Meet Dr. Melissa Noland-Chester, a trailblazing Success & High Performance Strategist, former professor, and bestselling author. As the Co-Founder & CEO of Black Educators Rock, Inc., Dr. Chester is dedicated to empowering minority educators and students nationwide.

Through initiatives like The ROCK Conference and BER, Inc.’s internet stations, she champions diversity and equity in education. Beyond her impactful nonprofit work, Dr. Chester is the proud broker owner of Red Phoenix Realty & Red Phoenix Real Estate School. Committed to community service, she serves on multiple boards supporting youth and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Shaun Woodly, Speaker, Author, & Educator

Dr. Shaun Woodly is a dedicated educator, author, and speaker with a deep passion for transforming education. A proud alum of Hampton University, he has excelled across all levels of academia, from K-12 classrooms to university lecture halls. Recognized for his outstanding teaching, Dr. Woodly has been honored with multiple awards, including the prestigious Teacher of the Year title. His work focuses on urban and culturally diverse schools, where he strives to unlock the potential of every student, regardless of their circumstances.

As the founder of the “Teach Hustle Inspire” movement, Dr. Woodly has become a leading voice in educational innovation, particularly in engaging and motivating students in challenging environments. His 2X bestselling books, “MC Means Move the Class” and “The League of Extraordinary Educators,” offer practical strategies for teachers to create dynamic and inclusive classrooms.

Today, Dr. Woodly travels the country, speaking at conferences, conventions, and professional development events, where he shares his insights and passion for education. Brandy Woods-Smith, Antiracist Educator and Social Justice Advocate

Brandy Woods-Smith is a charismatic and passionate educator, entrepreneur, speaker, author and consultant.

After serving the public school system for 13 years, Woods opened Imagine Me Academy in 2013 and now has multiple locations.

In her quest to help other aspiring entrepreneurs achieve success, she founded Powerhouses United (PHU). PHU is a business incubator designed to give education, resources and profit-producing strategies to business owners. The Childcare Millionaires Association is the fastest-growing division of PHU helping hundreds of Childcare owners achieve optimal success.

Your Host: Freddie Taylor, CEO of Urban Intellectuals

Freddie Taylor will kick off the symposium with opening remarks on our Black To School: Navigating a Broken System and how the understanding of Black history is important.

Freddie E. Taylor is the founder and CEO of Urban Intellectuals (UI), dedicated to transforming Black history education. Under his leadership, UI has sold over 400,000 Black History Flash Cards and gained media attention from outlets like TIME, Essence, and CBS Chicago. In collaboration with JetBlue, the flashcards were featured in JFK and Newark airports during Black History Month.

Freddie co-hosts Black Business Icons, showcasing Black entrepreneurs. He has been honored with the WDB Legacy Gala Award for Community and named one of the Top 25 Speakers of 2023 by iDominate Public Speaking Magazine.

Inspired by the lack of Black history education for his sons, Freddie launched UI’s Black History Flashcards in 2017. UI also offers the Sankofa Club, travel experiences, and an adult Black History class membership. His work has earned him recognition in Black Enterprise as a successful entrepreneur. Recently, UI’s flashcards were included in Target stores for Black History Month 2023.
