The game is simple but its effect is huge! This is so much more than just another don’t say the words game!

Even better, you can learn valuable Black history and culture information as you play. The items “You Better Not Say” are critical facts and information about each of the subjects, giving you an opportunity to learn while having fun with friends and family.

We’ve all played games like this but this one will drive you hard to learn more about Black History and will push your knowledge and skill to the limit!

The 104 subjects cover a range of Black History from the past to contemporary people, events and important moments too such as Fannie Lou Hamer, Bob Marley, Haile Selassie, Barack Obama, The Haitian Revolution, The Harlem Renaissance, Angela Davis, Dave Chappelle and MUCH MORE!

Each deck is planned to contain 52 high-quality cards (2.75″x2.75″) with a subject on either side, making 104 subjects in total.

Wow, I thought I knew a lot about black contributions to the American way of life, but I only really knew 40% of the cards, had heard of another 30% and that left 30% that I’d never heard of. I’m white, but I was in elementary school in the 70s and went to idealistic “hippie” alternative schools all my life, which were often placed in black neighborhoods and growing up always had friends from a lot of different cultures (black, hispanic, white, jewish, muslim, christian, atheist – not a lot of asian kids in “hippie” schools in the 70s and 80s). I don’t know if I could play this game with my family. The “don’t use these words” are all they probably know about 1/2 of these people, and the other 1/2 they probably don’t know anything about…. I wonder if another way to play – to make it more educational and less punitive, would be to start reading the “don’t say” list until the person is guessed? If not guessed by the end, no points.
